In December 2021 this mother arrived at MAITRI with her daughter after being rejected by her husband due to the social stigma. Her body was disfigured by severe type 2 leprosy reaction. After 5 months of intensive treatment at MAITRI her reaction subsided, her appearance recovered and she could be released from our hospital with the confidence that her life could continue as before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maitri-bodhgaya.org\/home\/supporting-maitri\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.maitri-bodhgaya.org\/home\/supporting-maitri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">generosity<\/a> helps us help those most in need.
